Wednesday, May 11
Working meeting with the Management Centre for the Thang Long and Co Loa
Citadels.
Thursday, May 12
The delegation toured five traditional handicraft villages in Hanoi located
in what used to be the province of Ha Tay: Van Phuc silk village, Chuong
conical hat village, Canh Hoach fan and bird cage village, Quat Dong embroidery
village and Ha Thai lacquer village. Except for Van Phuc, these villages do not
attract many visitors although they have a very significant tourism potential. Putting
these villages on a tourist itinerary would be one way of gaining greater
recognition for them and would help to preserve the cottage industries that are
their mainstay.
Friday, May 13
