Site visit in Paris |
The mission started with the presentation by Mr. Thierry Huau (architect and landscape engineer, director of the company Interscène) of the Enghien site that is linked to the study on showcasing Hanoi’s Old Quarter. During the site visit, Mr. Huau outlined the urban planning and landscape regulations governing residential neighborhoods bordering the lake. The delegation then had a working session with Jean-Claude Gaillot at the Sustainable Development Unit for presentation of research done by SDRIF and discussions of the implementation tools, notably the State-Region plan agreement.
From October 25-27, the participants travelled on to Barcelona where they first met with the director general of the Authority for the Protection of the Old City of Barcelona, Carles Blasco Bayot. He outlined steps taken for managing the protection and renovation of the sector. The municipality of Barcelona then hosted a tour of seaside highway system developments (covering over the expressway, putting in pedestrian footbridges and a tramway) and the new Forum quarter.
